Real Stories

Written by someone who has lived with eczema since age 8.

Real Tips

Skin, mind and nutrition habits she personally recommends.

Real Hope

Proof that it is possible to heal, and that you’re not alone.

Hi, I’m Ximena.

I’m 17, an upcoming senior in high school, and I have atopic dermatitis (also known as eczema). It started when I was 8 as a simple rash. Over the years it worsened, and by my third year of high school it had conquered my entire body.

When I was going through the most difficult moments of my life, I truly wished I had found solutions to guide me through it. So I wrote them down. All our bodies react differently to different things, and I hope this guide helps you find what you’re looking for.

Don’t let it define you.

Inside the guide

Three areas that made the biggest difference for me. Take what works for your body and leave the rest.

Skin

  • Gentle skincare routine
  • Stay moisturized
  • Avoid triggers
  • Be patient with your skin

Mind

  • Take deep breaths
  • Write down how you feel
  • Talk to someone
  • It’s ok to take a break

Nutrition

  • Eat whole, natural foods
  • Drink plenty of water
  • Include fruits & veggies
  • Listen to your body

Faith & Hope

Faith has been my anchor on the hardest days. It provided me with the hope and the strength that I needed to continue fighting!

I truly believe that God wants to heal me, but wants me to learn something from this. I also believe that I have this condition to help others who have it as well.

You are more than your skin.
